SCOTT WEILAND: DUI Case Postponed
March 22, 2004MTV.com reports: "A California court has postponed the DUI case of VELVET REVOLVER singer Scott Weiland until April 23. Last October, Weiland was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs after crashing his BMW into a parked van. On Tuesday, the singer is scheduled to receive a progress report from the Los Angeles district attorney's office."
VELVET REVOLVER's much-anticipated debut album, "Contraband", is scheduled for release on June 8 through RCA Records. The album's first single, "Slither", will be delivered to radio for airplay consideration in April, according to the radio industry trade publication FMQB (Friday Morning Quarterback).
VELVET REVOLVER will film a video for "Slither" next month. Director Kevin Kerslake recently shot interior and exterior scenes in Los Angeles and Europe (including catacombs footage in France),while the band will film their performance in early April.
As previously reported, "Contraband" will include twelve of the more than fifty tracks the band co-wrote before and after vocalist Scott Weiland (ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS) joined the lineup last spring. The CD was produced by Josh Abraham (LIMP BIZKIT, STAIND) and mixed by Andy Wallace (NIRVANA, WHITE ZOMBIE, LINKIN PARK, SLAYER, SEPULTURA). Mastering took place on December 19 in New York City.
